Hi everyone,

Sorry for not posting, but I do have exciting news for you.

I resigned as Miss Heartland 2011, and was juts crowned Miss Gateway 2012 this past Saturday.

Do you know what this means?! I will be going to Miss New Jersey in June 2012!

I have 9 months to get in fantastic shape, work on my platform, hone my interview skills, and come up with a new talent!

I will come back better than ever - I didn’t know what to expect the week of this year, but now that I’m prepared for what kind of events and activities we will be doing in addition to preparing for the show, I can better rest/prepare myself.

I’m thinking of starting a blog to promote my platform as a contestant for Miss New Jersey. My platform is Overcoming Obstacles, and I want to share my experiences with others, promoting awareness, educating, and making sure the voice of every disabled person is heard and respected. Those who carry a disability have a right to be accommodated so that they, too, can succeed in life.

So, please, for all of you following me on this wonderful blog, please continue to follow, but if you are interested, please follow my Miss Gateway blog. I will post a link. It will talk about all my appearances, my observations, my platform, the week of Miss New Jersey, etc., you name it. 

If you know of anyone who carries a disability (of any kind), please encourage them to follow this blog to, for I hope to spark some inspiration, motivation, and passion for ensuring that all should succeed.
